Meet Michelle
Hi,
Years ago, I left my career in broadcasting to raise our children. I truly enjoyed those years at home, but as my children became more independent, I felt a pull to pursue some creative endeavors. During my years at home I acquired a passion for antiquing and home decor. In 2014, I began a few home projects that led me into many new ventures. I made slipcovers for our couches, curated some interesting furniture pieces for our home, and took a class to learn how to refinish the pieces I’d found. During this time, I had a growing desire not just to shop at the quaint establishments I discovered, but to open a shop of my own. In 2015, I opened Antica Market with an Etsy shop and a couple of local tent sales. The following year I opened my brick and mortar location in Frederick, Md. In 2020, I decided to close the shop in Frederick in order to spend some time developing my blog and online shop as well as spend some time focusing on home improvements (again). Some of my other passions include, cooking, singing, knitting/weaving, painting furniture, hiking and hanging out with family, friends and our golden doodle, Bentley.
Love is greater than the walls which shut it in.
