There is still a bit of a chill in the air, but the hope of warmer days to come is such a happy thought! I’ve been collecting and adding some vintage pieces to the shop this week. I’ve been drawn to some nice chunky antique ironstone pieces, some pretty transferware and few pieces I just thought I’d love in my own home (or beach house if I had one).
I never tire of collecting ironstone with all it’s character and charm. I love stumbling upon a pretty little pitcher with crazing and rust stains. I bring it home and use it for a watering pitcher for my houseplants and as a vase for fresh picked bouquets from the yard.
I added two darling ironstone pitchers to the shop this week.
I also listed a beautiful large fluted bowl and scalloped edge platter. The bowl is the perfect size to hold fruit or a houseplant.
The platter has all over crazing and the sweetest little laurel wreath and ribbon design on the handles. I use these platters all over my house – on a table under a vase of flowers or a candle or on the wall as art.
Also available is a vintage wooden caddy. I have a couple of these in my home as well. I use one to hold the tv remotes and another in the guest bedroom to hold bottled water or snacks for our overnight guests.
I’m always drawn to cabbage leaf plates and bowls, so when I found this set of cabbage leaf demitasse cups and saucers, I knew they had to go in the shop. It’s a set of four – perfect for an espresso with friends.
If you love transferware, then you might enjoy these last couple of pieces I wanted to show you. I found some blue and white antique transferware – a handleless mug and saucer as well as a few beautiful platters (the platters will be listed soon).
There are also a few pieces of Copeland Spode red transferware available – an egg cup, a set of soup bowls and a tea cup.
So that’s a little peek at some of the pieces that are new in the shop this week. You can visit by pressing our shop button or with the link here.
